Writing Contest for TEENS in Grades 6-12
Write a Scary Story!
Tell a Tale of Terror!
Be a Master of the Macabre!
We're looking for tales in the tradition of the pro, Edgar Allan Poe.
- Write a ghost, horror, or supernatural story, 1,500 words or less in length; typed (or handwritten neatly!).
- Turn in your scary story at the Reference Desk of any Burbank Public Library. Or, attach a Word doc or "paste" your story into an email and send your submission to frighten_me@earthlink.net by October 31, 20o9.
PRIZES will be awarded to the best submissions.
First Place -- 2 tickets to Magic Mountain
Second Place -- 2 AMC movie tickets
Third Place -- $15 i-Tunes gift card.
- WINNERS will be announced on November 10 at the Library's Twilight screening/party.
- EXTRA CREDIT may be given at your teacher's discretion.
This program is funded by the Friends of the Burbank Public Library.
