How to Write a Mystery: a writer’s workshop

Burbank Public Library presents a Burbank READS event

How to Write a Mystery: a writer’s workshop
Join Bruce Cook and Gayle Bartos-Pool for an interactive writing workshop.
  • Are you currently working on a book? Bring the first line (or two) and get tips on "The Opening Scene."

  • Write out a paragraph synopsis of your novel. What would you tell an editior or agent if they asked, "What's your novel about?"

  • Learn how you can narrow the essence of the plot down to a simple paragraph and show the value of having that core on which to build.
