Now It's Your Turn!

Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.

William Arthur Ward.

Between September 21 and October 29, here are some ways to share your attitude of gratitude:

  • After you’ve read On Gratitude, be sure to encourage your friends and family to read the book.
  • What are YOU grateful for? Help us cre-ate THE WORLD’S LARGEST GRATITUDE LIST! Submit a Gratitude List at any of the Burbank Libraries or online at http://www.burbanklibrary.com/  or http://www.thegratitudelist.org/  We will share it, then add it to our list. Let’s Circle the City with Gratitude!
  • Write a letter to a member of the United States military deployed overseas or to a Wounded Warrior. Pick up a flyer describing the program and writing paper at the Burbank Public Library. Turn in all letters or artwork to the Library and they will be sent to Operation Gratitude. Letters are needed for the 100,000+ care packages Operation Gratitude sends to deployed troops each year.
  • Send a postcard or greeting card to a friend or family member to let them know how grateful you are to have them in your life.
  • Share your gratitude with those less fortunate in our community. Pick up an extra can or package of food next time you shop. During Burbank READS, the Library will collect food items for Burbank Temporary Aid Center (BTAC), Salvation Army, and Family Services Agency. Collection bins will be available at all locations of the Burbank Public Library.
