Did you know that this year's Greater Los Angeles Healthy Air walk will be held in Burbank on October 3 and that the Statewide Honorary Chairperson is none other than our featured author, Ed Begley Jr.?

Sustainabilty Showcase - Trader Joe's

The Trader Joe's table was a popular stop at the Sustainability Showcase. It never hurts to offer free food! Among the tempting treats were Organic coffee, organic lemonade, organic pizza, organic trail mix, organic apples and organic popcorn. It was all organically good too! Did you catch onto the theme that all of the food was organic?

Burbank has a Trader Joe's at 214 E Alameda Ave., stop on by and investigate their organic goodies.

Sustainabilty Showcase - IZIP Hybrid Bicycles.

One of the more popular vendors at our Sustainability Showcase, was Izip Hybrid Bicycles. The Izip staff had a wide range of their electric bicycles on display, the public could helmet up and take the bikes for short test rides and Izip even was holding a drawing for the chance at winning one of their bikes. I hope that the winner will be from Burbank!

Sustainabilty Showcase - JBHS tee shirt bags.

Another crafty event at the Sustainability Showcase, featured our friends from John Burroughs High School, demonstrating how to turn an old [or new] tee shirt into a nifty bag suitable for books, groceries, or ??? You may remember these bags from an earlier post. This was a big hit, all available tee shirts became bags and were given out to lucky recipients. So if you see these fashion accessories out and about town, you'll know where they came from!
